Located in the northwest corner of the San Fernando Valley, at the foot of the Santa Susana Pass, the community of Chatsworth has accumulated a long and colorful history. Chatsworth got its identity in 1888 when a subdivision map for the town of Chatsworth Park was filed with the L.A. County Recorder. Filmmakers soon discovered Chatsworth as a location to shoot their movies. The beautiful scenery has been in thousands of movies, TV shows, videos and commercials. Filming continues today with dressing rooms and sound trucks a regular fixture on the Chatsworth streets.
Chatsworth today has a very diverse and vibrant business community. A comprehensive list can be found at www.chatsworthchamber.com.
Chatsworth is one of the few areas in Los Angeles where you can see horseback riders trotting past industrial complexes on any given day. Chatsworth is a place where the homes are reasonably priced and a place where people can return to the days when you knew the name of your grocer and saw your neighbors on the streets.
